Good bye

Most of you know that a couple of weeks ago, my dad went to be with the Lord. There are several of you who have posted on Facebook, wonderful words about him. I just want to post some of those here as well. Thank you to everyone who came by to see him, called, and prayed. I have only choose very few condolences that I found that discribed my dad, their were many.

Words mean little at this point in your grief. No matter what anyone says - the fact remains the Mike weas taken from you, and all of of us, far too soon. I only hope that one day - when you read these wishes again - you will know how much your dad's personality, his heart and his passion fueled the fir...e of creative people on Maui, in Hawai'i and across the globe.There's a line in a song that says, "...seems the good, they die young. I turned around and he was gone..." Yeah.I believe many will choose to remember Mike's spirit more than they will mourn the loss. All I know is that he was one of a kind who was ALWAYS there for me - and countless others. Your dad was a hero. He epitomized what someone who chose the life path that he chose. Smarts. Creativity. Love of God and love of family. That's your dad. I am forever blessed that my life path got to cross his and I will always be grateful. I pray you and Mary can get past the grief as quickly as possible (but it doe...s take as long as it takes), and begin to cherish the memories, spirit and all theing good that Mike Knows was - and always will be - to the comming of Earth.We're all better having known him. ~ Jeff

A Psalm For You Mike

Mike, tonight the Lord reminded me of Psalm 118 as I was praying for you. I thought I should post it here. We love you and are keeping you and your family in our prayers.

Psalm 118

1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
his love endures forever.

2 Let Israel say:
"His love endures forever."

3 Let the house of Aaron say:
"His love endures forever."

4 Let those who fear the LORD say:
"His love endures forever."

5 In my anguish I cried to the LORD,
and he answered by setting me free.

6 The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?

7 The LORD is with me; he is my helper.
I will look in triumph on my enemies.

8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD
than to trust in man.

9 It is better to take refuge in the LORD
than to trust in princes.

10 All the nations surrounded me,
but in the name of the LORD I cut them off.

11 They surrounded me on every side,
but in the name of the LORD I cut them off.

12 They swarmed around me like bees,
but they died out as quickly as burning thorns;
in the name of the LORD I cut them off.

13 I was pushed back and about to fall,
but the LORD helped me.

14 The LORD is my strength and my song;
he has become my salvation.

15 Shouts of joy and victory
resound in the tents of the righteous:
"The LORD's right hand has done mighty things!

16 The LORD's right hand is lifted high;
the LORD's right hand has done mighty things!"

17 I will not die but live,
and will proclaim what the LORD has done.

18 The LORD has chastened me severely,
but he has not given me over to death.

19 Open for me the gates of righteousness;
I will enter and give thanks to the LORD.

20 This is the gate of the LORD
through which the righteous may enter.

21 I will give you thanks, for you answered me;
you have become my salvation.

22 The stone the builders rejected
has become the capstone;

23 the LORD has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes.

24 This is the day the LORD has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

25 O LORD, save us;
O LORD, grant us success.

26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD.
From the house of the LORD we bless you. a]" style="font-size: 0.75em; line-height: 0.5em; ">[a]

Mike's Guestbook

Mike now has a heart-shaped journal hanging in his room on the closet knob. If you visit Mike and he is asleep, rather than wake him, please feel free to write in the journal your well-wishes, prayers, and words of encouragement. It's kinda like posting comments here, only Mike gets to enjoy it right away when he wakes up.

They Miss Mike

Here's a shot we took a few days ago of buddies of Mike working a medical conference that Mike worked on with us for several years. The bigger of the two starts tomorrow, and we miss you so much Mike! We're praying for you! - Posted by Dave Thomas via FB
